Pricing
Prices will vary based on your project and needs, but on average will run as follows:
Proofreading
$5 per 1,000 words
- Ensuring correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Intended for writing that has already gone through editing/revisions and is in need of a final polish
Copyediting
$10 per 1,000 words
- Includes proofreading services listed above
- Line edits to tighten passages, improve clarity, improve flow, diversify language, add emphasis, etc.
- Ensuring consistency in formatting and usage (e.g., italics or bolding, capitalization, punctuation choices)
- Checking in-text and end citations as needed
Copyediting + Developmental Feedback
$15 per 1,000 words
- Includes copyediting services listed above with additional feedback on the piece as a whole
- Intended to address a piece’s overall flow, plot, characterization, organization, pacing, etc.
- Feedback can be given as comments throughout the text, a letter to the author, or in direct conversation
An additional note: I know that what might be very affordable to some might be unfeasible to others. If you’re interested in my services but worried about the cost, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m willing to negotiate a middle ground that’s fair to both of us.
